Best Season For Characters As A Whole
« on: September 29, 2007, 06:26:01 PM »
I was just thinking that we've analyzed the characters individually pretty well, but how about the best season for all of them as a whole?  Obviously in cases where you might think a particularly good year for one and particularly bad year for another things will kind of balance out a bit.

I'm leaning towards season 2.  It had such a nice atmosphere.  There was still a huge involvement between everybody, and we had more characters like Becky and Kimmy (she was on more than season 1, but not yet a regular either).  The dynamics between the girls was strong, and the guys were in between inexperienced to the way they became later on (I don't really know how to describe that, lol).

My next choice would definitely have to be 3.  How about you?

definitely either season two or three because I just didn't really like season one, but once you get to season 4 and beyond the characters aren't quite as defined or new/exciting as they started out

Yeah, I'd say Seasons 2 and 3 myself, for pretty much the same reasons as what yall two said.

I'll go with Season 3 as well, for the same reason as Avrilfan.

I'd say 2 or 6.  2 for reasons already stated, 6 because, well, I think it had a nice, kind of different atmosphere than a lot of the other season.

And definetly not 1, the characters were still developing and they changed too much that season.  Three was pretty okay, but I kind of thought that some of it was boring.  I'd say 4 and 5 were also okay, some of the characters/ plotlines becoming too predictable, though. 7- also okay, some of the characters were beginning to get flat though- Kimmy's annoyingness (If that's a word), Joey's acting like kid too much- they were just getting annoying.  And season 8- I didn't very much like season 8.  The characters seemed kind of dry, and while they were good in many eps, it wasn't enough for me to like it as a whole.

I agree with you about season 1 because the characters where still developing but that happens in every TV show though. Season8 was kinda dull just because I think they needed to do something different but I still liked the 8th season though.

I don't think the season 1 characters were that bad.   I might go out on a limb with saying I'd put it after 2, 3, and 4.  Even though the characters were developing, the season did have its own unique feelings in regards to how the characters were with each other.  Everyone was so involved with each other in most of the episodes.  I'd say even if people found some of the moments, the characters weren't as unlikeable as moments season 5 and beyond.

I would have to say season 4 because 1) Michelle was getting older and more involved in the show, and 2) I think that was one of Kimmy's best seasons.

I put season 4 down as my third choice because the Stephanie/DJ interaction was great.  The guys were still pretty good, except in moments when they were parenting Michelle (Crimes and Michelle's Misdemeanor, A Pinch For A Pinch).  Michelle was still pretty good, although this was the first time where we saw some of her bad behavior in season 5, lol.  That's what's stopping me from putting it higher than I did.

but for me, Michelle being just cute and not really involved was better than her running her mouth all the time sm5

true though, Kimmy wasn't all that great until later on, she was kind of bland at first....

Yeah, that's why I consider 2 and 3 better in that regard, and even arguably 1,  I refrained from that just for some of the areas of the characters.  The show changed focus a bit around the half point and the more I've seen the show the less I consider that a positive compared to the way it was.  Of the later seasons I woudl have to go with 6 of course because Michelle as bad besides a few notable occasions and Stephanie was really involved in some great stuff.

id say 2,3,and 4, for me and in that order. i think season 2 is my favorite. all the characters were fresh and all three kids were great. i liked when they added becky to the mix too.

I know what you mean.  I feel the same way.  The older episodes really are entertaining after I've seen them a couple times more now.  At first I didn't find them overly memorable, but now I consider it perhaps the best time of the series from an overall perspective.
