I'm gonna worry about Calculus when it comes. I'm in Algebra I right now, and so far I'm getting a decent grade for it. If anything, I'm worried that I won't be able to pay attention (it might just be my teacher lol).

I'm just worried about getting through the year in honors pre algbra :P and I don't even want to think about the future when it comes to math.  I have an 88, I guess that's not bad.  We all like sucked on the test today though :P I got a 13 out of 19.  And I'm too lazy to figure out the percentage.

Yeah, I guess with math is has just as much to do with understanding the concept beign taught as it is personal ability.  You need a good teacher for that kind of thing, whereas in other places the teaching style might not have as much of an impact.

Yeah, my teacher is a biotch, she wants the work a certain way, and she just cares about things that don't have anything to do with the answer. She kind of holds a grudge against me almost because I use mental math wherever I can, instead of bothering to write everything out on paper. I don't get it; in my generation's workforce, you'll either be doing things with a calculator or in your head.

I always the system used by my one teacher.  If you get the right answer, you'll get the marks.  If you get the wrong answer and don't write things down, you won't.  If you get the wrong answer and write things down, you will.  That's the best way I see it for something like math.  I was always about mental math in elementary school.

Yes, I see how that could be helpful, but much of the time I do so much of it in my head the paper becomes irrelevant.

Yeah, I could do a lot in my head for math too.  I'm nervous about turning my homework I did last night because I did most of it in my head.  I mean, I hate showing my work for 3 times 5 or something like that.  "but she likes to have all the steps down on the paper" SCREW IT.

That's what I like about that system.  If you can manage to answer things correctly, what else is shown isn't so necessary.  Of course if you make a mistake and nothing else to show how you got it, I guess you can't expect anything from it.  Once you get into more complicated math you're definitely going to be writing things down anyways though, even if the actual calculating is mental.
