I so went out and got a laptop at like 1 AM, was hilarious because I was confusing the lady in electronics sooo bad, but I ended up getting me a laptop, so oh wells.

So excited though, because I bought it on my own. I guess a lot of hard work and tolerating customers at work can indeed pay off for some of the things you want in life.

Congrats on the laptop, I know how you feel when it comes to that.  I was so excited when I bought mine.  But don't go too crazy downloading stuff because then you're computer will get screwed LOL.

Yeah, even AIM slowed down my computer.  I had to get rid of that.  The first couple times I tried Audacity it screwed up my computer but now it works fine.  Make sure you have a virus thing, I need to renew mine but it costs 70 bucks... so I just got a different one for 30.

apparently the top two things that slow down comps are installing fonts and antivirus scanners like Norton haha

I guess that's what random is for, lol.  Congrats on the laptop, MB!  I received mine a month or two I think (not the best at judging time frames like that, lol).  It's really handy, and I come onto HR and elsewhere at easier times.  I use it almost completely for internet though, because not much else would be worth with the space it takes up.  I put in one game in case I'm somewhere where a computer isn't possible.

Well, I pretty much wanted it so that I wouldn't have to constantly sit in one chair and have my rear end up being sore after a while, icky. I'm in love with it right now -- I'm making my boyfriend use my desktop right now while I'm typing up a storm at the moment, very funny. He wanted the laptop so that he could take it into the living room -- I don't think so. It's my baby, not his.

I pretty much got the laptop for on-the-go school and such, and because I got sick and tired of sitting in one place for such a long period of time. It will keep me from getting up and leaving the computer for a very long amount of time, which is very reassuring for me. Bought it for $638-something though, with tax and all included. A little compaq presario F700. Pretty darn nice though, me loves it.

Congratulations on your new laptop. We just got a new laptop [we being my family] but i'm basically the only one that uses it. Laptops rule, because now I can watch TV and go on the computer at the same time.

I think we got ours for about $800 which was actually the cheapest one there that fit what I was looking for.  I definitely had more knowledge of laptops after doing a little shopping for it.  It was a pretty long day though.  I can now use the internet in our loft though, which is great.  I'm assuming you have a wireless adaptor to go along with it so you can move around.

Yep, I do. My dad is a computer freak, so it'd only be natural, haha. I'm in love with it though, typing and sitting directly in front of it while I watch reruns of Heroes on G4.
