A Tale Of Two Cities
« on: November 13, 2007, 12:12:56 AM »
Well, I'd just thought I'd see if anyone has any comments on this book (in case anyone does).  Fairly lengthy (350+ pages in standard novel format), and it's split into three different sections.  I'm sure most of you would be familiar with the name, although I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't read it before.  It's not the easier to comprehend although once you get used to it, the language is manageable.

The story revolves around characters druing French Revolution time, which as a whole I'm really not interested in at all.  The social interaction does make the story more interesting though.

I'm pretty sure that my friend has read it as she reads so much. It doesn't really sound like i would be interested in it though.

There are some sections of it that can get so incredibly boring, although the characters are actually pretty good.  You need to be in the right mood and there needs to be something that you can latch on to, as with pretty much anything.  Certainly once you're through it's safe to say you'll have a much stronger understanding of an older style of english.
