I think you already know my thoughts on it.  My feelings are less extreme than they used to be, especially towards Michelle, but it would probably have to be one of the worst episodes as far as parenting goes in my opinion.  It has some good moments and such, but nothing that would make it stand out from the series for me.

I thought it was a good episode.  Yes, of course the parenting wasn't very good, but the plot and acting was good.  I could also relate to that episode, especially at the time I saw it, and I was just thinking, "That is so ACCURATE!  That's exactly the way it happens in real life!"

I liked it as well, I thought most people around here hated it. I loved the scene with the devil and angel Michelles.

I haven't seen the episode (I just remember seeing the one little clip of it), but wasn't that actually from The Devil Made Me Do It?  I don't recall that being from Crimes and Michelle's Misdemeanor at all.

I don't have a problem with the acting, although I just consider it about on par with the rest of the episodes around.  The plot would have been fine had gone in a slightly different direction.  Danny got pretty carried away.  I must admit when something really frustrates (like a character being such a certain way) it will have an impact into how much I can enjoy it.

I liked this episode plot between Steph and DJ because to me it began to show how much Michelle was treated very different from Steph and DJ.

Agree. It may have been a Michelle episode, but DJ and Steph had great parts in it.

My favourite DJ and Steph quotes in this episode are:

quote 1

DJ: I don't get it. When did we become the ugly stepsisters?
Stephanie: Who are you calling ugly?

quote 2

DJ: Nail her dad, and if she tries to pull any of that cute stuff, think of your wet shoe.

Well, now I know the answer to the name that quote, lol. ;)  I consider Stephanie and DJ to have had great parts in almost all the episodes around that point of the series.

Ya I agree with you and I think that in some cases they have a better plot line than the main one in some episodes.

I agree, DJ and Steph tend to have great one liners in every episode, but particularly in ones that they're not starring in they're just commenting on the situation or whatever....

"I like escalators because an escalator can never break: it can only become stairs. You'll never see an Escalator Temporarily Out Of Order sign, just Escalator Temporarily Stairs. Sorry for the convenience. We apologize that you can still get up there."

"I was in a casino, I was standing by the door, and a security guard came over and said 'You're gonna have to move. You're blocking the fire exit.' As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammable and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit. Unless you are a table."

I consider Stephanie and DJ to have had great parts in almost all the episodes around that point of the series.

The exception is Steph's part in Greek Week, which is rather small, and not very notable.

Also, how much of the series are you talking about when you say "around that point in the series"?

Probably seasons 2, 3, and 4 in particular.  You're about Greek Week though, and as a result I consider it lacking in a lot of respects because of it.

Probably seasons 2, 3, and 4 in particular.

Those definitely were the best seasons for DJ/Steph interaction, and DJ and Steph had good or great parts in most episodes from those seasons.

You're right about Greek Week though, and as a result I consider it lacking in a lot of respects because of it.

I still like Greek Week despite Steph's smaller part. There's  enough else going on in the episode to make up for it. To give Steph a bigger part, one of the other plots would have to get left out. Add in that I would like to have Nick & Irene in the episode, and there really isn't space to give Steph a bigger part.

I agree that seasons 2, 3, and 4 had the best DJ/Steph interaction, and a lot of great parts for both DJ and Stephanie. I wouldn't, however, go so far as to say they had great parts in every episode in those seasons, and I think it's more than just Greek Week.
Greek Week isn't the only one, but I would still consider the majority of the episodes (excluding ones where they have the primary involvement) during that time to be enhanced through Stephanie and DJ's side roles.

Part of that for me was that all these different characters added onto an already large group made it feel too busy.  One does not need to be involved in a big role to make their mark in an episode, but with that kind of structure even that is difficult to do.

But anyways, I guess we've drifted a bit off from the original subject. sm5
