Amusing Name Combinations
« on: December 06, 2007, 12:51:50 AM »
I thought this would make a pretty fitting random thread.  This is basically a place to discuss really comical name combinations whether they actually exist on a person or would have the potential with something like marriage.  I'll start things off with a couple of different ones.  The first is a real name which I might have mentioned before.  Ima Hogg.  I'm not sure if that her maiden name or marriage name, but it's a little surprising someone didn't clue in (and if they did, I guess they decided to leave it).  The second one revolved around two of my classmates.  One girl had the same first as a guy's last name, and people always used to tease them that if they got married the girl would have a double name pretty much. sm4

like the joke about the law firm Dewey, Cheathem, and Howe.....I love that kind of stuff lol

I also love when people's names are ironically related to their jobs lol, for example:
Dr. Weiner, Pediatric Urologist
Dr. Daniel C Little, Optometrist
sm4 LOL

Pretty clever, lol.  It took me moment to get the law firm one, but it was kind of like Mad Gab scenario for me to figure out. ;)

Haha how about Thomas Crapper inventor of the modern toilet. What's hilarious is I know someone who's name sounds a lot like a house in the Harry Potter series, however  I won't disclose it.

I know we had a member of that name for a while.  I'm guessing it's a pop culture reference.  Mind filling me in, lol.  It'll probably be so obvious I'll feel stupid I didn't know.

Of course there's I.P. Freely. I did think of something similar to that csoup when I was in 4th grade: Stihl, Ingyor, and Money. Wasn't quite as clever as yours obviously though. :P

That's from right out of the Simpsons as well.  It was the one where there was actually a guy with that name and answered the phone.

" Moe : Flaming Moe's.

Bart : Uh, yes, I'm looking for a friend of mine. Last name Jass. First name Hugh.

Moe : Uh, hold on, I'll check. [calling] Hugh Jass! Somebody check the men's room for a Hugh Jass!

Hugh : Uh, I'm Hugh Jass.

Moe : Telephone. [hands over the receiver]

Hugh : Hello, this is Hugh Jass.

 Bart : [surprised] Uh, hi.

 Hugh : Who's this?

 Bart : Bart Simpson.

Hugh : Well, what can I do for you, Bart?

Bart : Uh, look, I'll level with you, Mister. This is a prank call that sort of backfired, and I'd like to bail out right now.

Hugh : All right. Better luck next time. [hangs up] What a nice young man. " sm5

The Simpsons had a ton of those with the prank phone calls.
