During a trip to the carnival, Michelle gets herself a goldfish who she decides to call Martin. However she would learn the hard way that aren't meant to have bubble baths and the guys have to try and explain to her he's dead. This makes her feel guilty and upon the gift of a new fish, this time in a tank instead of a bowl, she is stand-offish about it. Things turn out well in the end though when her discovery of the new baby fish brings back her confidence. Elsewhere, Jesse and Becky are in a disagreement about whether to have square dancing at their wedding, and DJ pretends to have an interest in cars for a boy she likes (and much to Stephanie's amusement).
