Has the Writing Strike Affected You?

I'm not exactly sure where things are regarding this at the moment even, but I'm sure you are all at least aware of it happening.  So that pretty much means I haven't been paying attention and it hasn't phased me.  How about you?

Yeah, it happened around October or November I guess it is.  Last thing I knew was that the latest offer was rejected.

I don't think it has unless the reason the Fox animated shows weren't on last night was due to that.

I heard Family Guy were being eleased by the FOX netwok still but I'm not sure how they were going to handle the voices again.  I haven't seen a new Simpsons for a couple months so I wouldn't know where they are.  The big thing for me would be if historically the season was nearly written off (pardon the pun).

well apparently some shows aren't going to be showing much past January if at all considering they've had no one to write the shows which really pisses me off b/c the Law & Order franchise may be among those going off the air >:( lol

plus late night TV (Conan, Leno, etc.) were really sucky for a while and then gone before they finally got new writers or something

I haven't even been following the FOX Sunday lineup which was probably the only thing I watched even once the season started.  It's almost a shame if long-running shows have a blemish on their episodes with something like this.

I really should give up watching American tv for the duration of the writers strike, in solidarity with the striking writers. I probably won't, though. It's not like American tv stations base any of their actions on their Canadian ratings.

I watch the CSI franchise, and it will probably go off the air soon, after they run out of new episodes.

I personally haven't been affected by the writer's strike (unless they cancel One Tree Hill, then I will be) but my friends (who love this show called Gossip Girl) are all angry because of it.

Yeah, I've seen on TV.com that a few new Simpsons episodes have been made, although I'm not entirely sure how things are working in that regard.  The list is only up to 18 for the season instead of the regular 23-24. That could be in part because that not all new episodes have been tracked.  Really the way they're going by now a lack of writing won't make too much of a difference. sm5

It's kind of affected me, but at the same time I really don't care about it. I can live without new TV for a while, and if it continues it'll probably have the nice positive effect of making everyone sick of reality TV when it's over/

Does anyone know if there has been a writing strike of this magnitude before?  I would lean towards no.  I'm actually kind of happy there aren't really any top-notch sitcoms anymore.  Imagine how much of a difference it would have made in the 90's if all the live-action comedies basically had half of a season missing.
