Typical school day
« on: January 13, 2008, 12:45:21 AM »
Whats a typical school day like for you? I go to a public school, Heres my typical day: (along with my schedule & grades)

Homeroom (10 mins. Awesome teacher. Everyone fools around.) N/G (not graded)
1. Acting + Modeling course (Fun. GREAT teacher. But tests on stuff we've learned can be hard b/c we dont really write stuff down, we physically DO it, if you know what I mean) A
2. English (yucky. but no homework b/c our teacher doesnt believe in giving it. just spelling stuff and projects occasionally)B+
3. French (kinda hard. tests are monsters. but there only once per trimester) A-
4. Geometry (EW. hate it. tests are gay. teacher is horrendous.) B- (lol 80% on the dot)
LUNCH (so many choices. you can eat outside on the pattio if its above 62. favorite time of the day)
5. Day 1: Computer Tech (Graphic Design, Photography, Web Programing) (VERY fun. you get to take your pictures and add effects and do all kinds of fun stuff, and you get to make a subtitled take home album at the end of each trimester, A) Day 2:Phy Ed (swimming for another month!!!!! then health. PERVERTED TEACHER!!!!!! his name is mr. fucku.HAHAHAHA!!! A) Day 3: Band (awesome teacher. everyone screws around. love it! and b/c im in band I dont have to take an arts class! woot woot!A) Day 4: Cooking (SOOOOOOOOO FUN! you get to make awesome food! and the tests are a snap) A+

We get a 10 minute break between classes. We start at 8 and end at 1:15

I'm ALWAYS late to geometry. If your 5- minutes late you get 5 points down. If you're 6-14  minutes late you get 10 points down. And if you're 15+ minutes late you get a detention and 20 points down. (of course you get none of this if your tardy excused) This year my grade has gone down 26% because of tardiness. Sometimes I really am late and other times me and my friends do it to tick the teacher off  sm5 But the classes are SO big you can sneak in sometimes. If she caught me everytime I would be at like a D. 3/5 days I'm late. 1 out of those 3 I snuck in. Usually. Its different every week.  I can be late all or no days, and I could get caught all or no days.

I usually get done with lunch early so I go to study hall. Its really helpful.

Other than that nothing really. I'll post more if I think of more.

My days don't really ever get too exciting.  Interest wise, my second and fourth classes are the best (which is studying law and making presentations respectively).  I have two male and two female teachers, and I probably prefer one of each (coincidentally though one of them isn't my most exciting class) as far as making the class the best experience possible, although I never really have direct problems with any of the teachers.  My other two courses surround literary studies  sm15 and accounting.  There are usually one or two different people in each class which I most associate with.

My days are basically the same. No changes in them.

I start off with Algebra in the morning with like one of the best teachers our gay school has.
Then I have Grammar with a teacher who is obsessed with everything I do and I hate it.
Then I have Literature with the most hated teacher in our gay school who is unfair and tells you life is unfair so deal with it.
Then I have Yearbook! my favorite class except when we get close to a deadline and everyone is in total panic. But the teacher is amazing so its all good.
Then I have History with an awesome teacher who actually makes history fun to learn (i never though that was possible) its really easy to get him off topic and he enjoys getting off topic and cracking jokes in between the lectures.
Then I have IPC which is okay. It's really hard so I don't like it.
Then I have Bible which can be fun cause I sit around the craziest guys and they are a lot of fun to listen to. And the teacher is pretty cool.
Then I have Dance and I don't rreally care for it because the teacher hates when we talk while dancing and yells at us so I don't like her or the class.

We go from 8-3:15.

4. Earth Science- I HATE THIS CLASSS. The teacher is really unorganized and boring. 90% last term
5. Algebara IH- My favorite class by far, teacher's nice, work load is fair. 99% last term.
6. Gym/ Music- Both are really easy. 95% in gym, 100% in music.
7. Spanish I - Mad easy. I like the teacher and class is fun. 100% last term.
8. SS- Kind of boring/ easy. Interesting subjects though. 97% last term.

1. Homeroom- awesome, we have a weird teacher and we can do whatever we want.
2. Sceince- I have a really high grade and I like it if we're doing something cool.
3. Social Studies- Boring, I hate who I sit by, but it's easy kinda.
4. Tech Ed- Weird teacher (he's my homeroom teacher guy) and we're making clocks and I bring mine home Friday.
5. Lunch- Can't wait until next semester when I can change seats :P
6. Gym- Hate it, hate it, hate it.  Can't wait until next semester when that's over.
7. Honors Pre-Algebra- Great class, I have a good grade, and I just like it lol.
8. Language Arts- Boring, half the class is like asleep since it's boring and last period.

Then I go hang out with my peeps after school by the bike racks and walk home.

School hours are 8:27-3:18 but I usually don't get home until like.. 4 :P

If you don't mind me asking, is this a religious school you go to, or is Bible class similar to a course like Religion where you decide to take it?

1. Religion - Pretty much always boring, especially when we have confirmation on Wednesdays (my dad teaches that class  sm15).
2. Social Studies - Same teacher as religion, so it's pretty much always boring, except sometimes we discuss pretty interesting things.
3. Spanish - Again. Boring. Even though I'm kind of good at it.
4. Study Hall - BEST class ever. Since there are 4 girls and 3 study halls, the other two study halls have one girl and I have my best friend, so we basically just fool around and bug the class that is actually in there doing work (my sister's class. funny.) Plus, the teacher gives us food.
5. Music - Don't even get me started. The class itself isn't that bad, it's just the TEACHER who's OBSESSED with stupid stuff and just goes on and on. Annoying.
6. Math - Hate the class, love the teacher.
7. Lunch - Pretty self-explanatory. 8th grade gets their own table in the corner, it's pretty and round.
8. Gym - Loved this class last year, now we have a new teacher and we play basketball EVERY DAY.
9. Science - Same teacher as gym class, so we have a double period of her. She's nice and all, but for some reason I just don't like her. The class is incredibly boring.
10. English - The class is kind of boring, but I really love the teacher.

That's pretty much my day. We go from 8:15 (but I get there around 7:55) to 3.

Wow, I'd hate to have a parent involved in any kind of school thing like that, lol.  I did know a teacher who had his daughter in one of his classes though. :P

1. English- I like this class and I have a good grade in it (88%) the teacher is really nice to.
2. Communications Technology- I love this class it is by far my favorite. My teacher is so funny she takes nothing seriously and we do stuff like photography, graphic design, right now we are learning flash. My mark in this course is 90% much higher than last year with a 79% I must have got better at my photoshop skills
Lunch- goes from 10:58-11:51 great time of day and so much fun.
3. Travel and Tourism- I also love this class. Basically we learn about places of the world. The teacher is extremely nice and lets us listen to her I pod in class so its cool.
4. Foods- All I can say is that I hate this class and I can't wait until its all over. I can't cook and I remember a few weeks ago I burned the chocolate and to make it worse I am stuck in a class with a bunch of grade 12's (I'm in grade 11) who take the class so serious and I'm just like I don't plan on usuing this I just want my ceridt.

Thats how my day goes. We go from 8:05-2:30 I usually get home at about 3:00 and my homework seems to take me forever this time of year considering there is only 9 days left of the semseter and it is culmminating activity and the teacher are going crazy with the pre-exam work that we still have to catch up on.

lol I'd trade any of you guys' regular school days for mine :P  they all sound pretty fun!
I have no non-academic classes..

1) Physics Honors.
it's fun, but I don't like what we're doing right now. I was fine with vectors, kinematics, and projectile motion; I was alllriiight with friction and tension; and now I'm dying with uniform circular motion and circular orbits. :P  I had an A in there for the first semester until the exam, where it dropped to an A-. yeah.

2) French IV AP.
uhh really hard for me.  I suck at languages, but it's a fun class and we have a great teacher.  I had an A- but it dropped to a B+ after the exam; go figure. lol

3) All school assembly / Upper school assembly / Advisory.
Advisory's the best one.

4) Analysis Accelerated.
Cool teacher, nice class.. I started slacking off near the end of the semester though, so my A dropped to an A-.. * sigh *

5) English III AP.
Oooh, I suck at English.  I'm not sure why the 2 APs I'm taking are in languages ;D  but it's an alright class.  I have a B+..

6) Free!
yay, I love free period.

7) Lunch.
Who doesn't like lunch?

8 ) US History
seriously, this is an awesome class. we have such a cool teacher too.. I have an A, but I really don't like history as a subject.

9) Advanced Cellular Molecular Biology
nice class.  I got an A+ on the exam, which made me super happy.. but I can't do the labs in there for my life.. lol

and that's it.  8:00am - 3:00pm
...Quel culot!!
HOW RUDE!.info

He's everywhere. Superintendent, pastor, confirmation teacher. Even trips. I can't stand it. But in one year I'll be off to high school and I won't see him at school again. sm3

Lol, soon enough I guess.  I would think elementary school might be slightly easier in some ways (not quite as sub-conscious as in the teen years), but more difficult in others (like the peers thing).

And FW, your day is pretty rough.  I don't think I'll trade. sm5

I go to a private, Christian, non denominational, school so they teach bible but its not like the way the Presbyterians view it or Episcopalians view it, or Catholics view it, its just the bible.

So are their religious belief expectations from the students, or do you tend to have students of any?  I"m must interested because we have a Catholic high school near us and there aren't any requirements except one must take Religion and prayer is included in morning P.A.

Fw, you get a free period? Your sooo lucky. I'd trade in awful GEOMETRY for a free. Geometry sucks on shit, the teacher is stupid and she never smiles and she dresses in gray/black and yells "ZIP IT!!" if you even say one word. Most of the kids this year got the NICE geometry/algebra teacher. I was one of the UNlucky ones. She never shuts up about talking in class. She gave a 15 minute lecture once and the bell was going to ring in like 1 min and this kids like "well what about the rest of the lesson?" and she goes "Because of all the talking thats all HOMEWORK!!" and if she would have shut up then we would have got it done. Bitch
