Your Opinion of FH in 10 Years
« on: February 09, 2008, 03:03:03 AM »
I understand that a lot of people here (most really) have had varying opinions on the show in even the amount of time that has encapsulated HR.  In 10 years, what do you think your opinion of the show will be?

Personally, I'll probably still have a special place for it, and maybe an interest similar to what I do now (although chances are not talking about nearly as much for obvious reasons).

10 years from now, I'll probably still appreciate the show and be somewhat of a fan of it, but I won't be as obsessed (sp?) like I used to be. (Not that I'm obsessed now, just saying I was about 3 years ago).

I'll always have a special place for Full House. I think my favourite episodes will still generally be the Stephanie episodes, the DJ episodes, and the episodes focused on the whole family.

Chances are HR won't exist in ten years, so I likely won't be discussing fh on the internet anymore.  There's also a good chance fh won't be on tv anymore in ten years. So if I don't buy the dvds, I probably won't have much opportunity to watch it. Unless episodes still pop up on the internet, but that's a big unknown. Thought the way things are going with the Internet I wouldn't be surprised if at some point in the next 10 years, any and all tv episodes stop being available over the internet.

I think once HR is gone, I'll honestly pretty much forget about FH, until HR is ever brought up by anyone.

I think that's what will happen to me as well. I'll remember it a little bit, but after a while, I'll just completely forget about it (bad memory here sm4).

I think at some point I will forget about it, and completley stop watching it.  But then I'll find all my old DVD's and start to watch it again, and I'll fall in love with it all over again, because, having forgotten it, it will seem fresh and new.  So then I'll love it again!

I have most of the dvds, however it's likely I won't remember Full House either in ten years.
I'm back

I don't think it's as much as not remembering as it is not thinking about it.  Obviously if you literally have no recollection of the show at all in only 10 years I'd imagine you'd have memory issues.  While it has any direct impact on your life whatsoever after HR remains to be seen, and I'd imagine with most of you who have limited interest in it that's what will happen.

I've always had a sentimental side, so I still from time to time think back of other shows I used to watch even if I haven't watched it or talked about it in ages.  I know I say it every year but as soon as I get the DVDs I'll always have those (except maybe when the technology becomes obsolete sm5 ).  My attention to it would be sporadic at most but my involvement and discussions about it even up to this point would still remain a part of me, as cheesy as that sounds. sm4

Yeah, that's a nice thought.  Certainly would be something that could entertain both you and your kids, which is always a plus. :)  I'd probably like that too, if they actually wanted to watch it.

because of my past obsession I have a feeling it will always have a special little spot in my heart or whatever :P lol but I think that otherwise in 10 years I'll feel about the same way that I do now: it's a cute show, but pretty damn boring nonetheless.  especially considering I have seen every single episode more than once.  sm3

Upon reviewing episodes I hadn't seen in a while, I'm surprised by how much I forget.  If you see them several times close to each other I find that feeling is mostly lost though, and the interest is more inclined to wear off.

that's true actually, the other day I flipped by an episode and couldn't remember how it ended so I watched it....but still nothing happens that you don't expect so it's not all that thrilling haha....of course now the same thing is happening to me with Law & ORder because I've seen so many of them but at least they do come out with new ones each week (that is, when there's not a writer's strike >:()

Do you think if you were to not watch it in those 10 years at all, you would feel any differently?

I don't know possibly.....like if I were to truly be able to forget it all :P lol.....but still the plot lines and characters don't really appeal to me that much anymore because they're all so wholesome ;) you have to remember that I watch crime/courtroom dramas now so I prefer the tough stuff haha
