Well I guess the exterior would be in for an overhaul to match the layout, unless you were meaning the unexplained mysteries of the end of the hall and some of the doorways leading to rooms.

Obviously, all inside rooms of the Tanner House could not fit in the house that was used for the exterior shots. I'd say that if the Tanner house actually existed, it would have the same exterior design features, but would be proportionally larger to accomodate all the rooms that are on the show.

The unexplained mysteries of the end of the hall have partly to do with there only being one entrance to the set. The hallway set probbably starts at the front of the stage, and goes back to the wall at the end of the stage. Thus, both the living room stairs and the kitchen stairs lead up to the same spot on the second floor. We have to suspend disbelief and believe this is actually two different points, even though the doorways would be in different places if viewed from the other end of the hallway. They also have the same doors leading to different upstairs rooms at different times, and I've never bothered to figure the ins and outs of that.

The other problems are that
1) The hallway doesn't have enough doors
2) I'm not sure the hallway is balanced in terms of how much length would be required for the rooms on each side
3) I'm not sure it's even consistent which rooms are on the same side (though it may be)
4) The hallway would have to be longer than the space between the living room and kitchen stairs
5) The door to the attic is not part of the hallway set (I've not seen it, at any rate)

There'd definitely have to be some choices made about second floor for it to be in proportion with the first floor, and this would likely involve getting rid of 1 or 2 rooms (the room that was Michelle's and then DJ's room, and/or the room that was Jesse and then Joey's room.
I guess it's hard getting around what would be the mring of error that exists for the set.  It's difficult to really visualize how to get around it.  You know I would no problem with the extra space of the second floor just jutting out of the sides (supported obviously) to make up the smaller first floor.  It's just hard to visualize some of the questions people might have for the layout between rooms.

Yeah, the inconsistencies in the second floor of the Tanner house is on of the things I don't entirely get about Full House. I understand some of the inconsistencies, but not all of them, and not how they worked around it with the set. I know they didn't have all the rooms attached to the hallway as one set, because there arn't enough doors, and the rooms wern't always in the same spot on the set. However, I think you could see the hallway from some of the rooms, which doesn't make sense. I don't know how they did it. I think most people don't get this.

Lol, that's true about the hallway thing too.  Pretty odd actually.  I guess for the purposes of this thread we'll just have to go with the way we interpreted it on the show.  So, for that one beside the girls' room, do you consider it the bathroom or Danny's room?

I always thought it was the bathroom....I realize in the show it doesn't match this, but in my mind, if you're looking down the hallway from the perspective of the top of the kitchen stairs (which is always where the camera was positioned lol) you have Steph and Michelle's room on the right closest, then the bathroom one door farther and Danny's room next to it.  Across the hall of course are Joey's and DJ's rooms in their normal spots :P.  then you go down the short little flight of stairs preceding the rest of the stairs down to the living room, and there's the door to Jesse and Becky's apartment/attic.

"I like escalators because an escalator can never break: it can only become stairs. You'll never see an Escalator Temporarily Out Of Order sign, just Escalator Temporarily Stairs. Sorry for the convenience. We apologize that you can still get up there."

"I was in a casino, I was standing by the door, and a security guard came over and said 'You're gonna have to move. You're blocking the fire exit.' As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammable and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit. Unless you are a table."

I've heard the idea of another entrance at a landing part was down the stairs before.  I'm not sure how it would work but it's interesting anyways. So you thought it like there were three entrances on the right side of the hallway from the normal view?  I think there were only two, but obviously you have to compensate for a missing room.
