Concerts?
« on: July 12, 2008, 04:01:16 AM »
So... how many concerts (if any) and what concerts (again, if any) have you been to?

I've been to 4: Augustana/Goo Goo Dolls, Weird Al, Projekt Revolution (HIM, Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park), and Lifehouse.

I'm going to 2 concerts this summer, Bullet For My Valentine on July 15th, and Warped Tour on August 2nd.  I'm trying to win tickets to see Plain White T's so if I win those I'll be seeing them on August 1st.

There's TONS of other concerts I'd love to go to but I can't go to them:
The Hush Sound- July 20th
Rage Against The Machine/The Raconteurs/Nine Inch Nails- August 1st-3rd
Coldplay- August 4th
Rockstar Mayhem (Black Tide, Disturbed, Dragonforce, Slipknot, Five Finger Death Punch)- August 10th
Projekt Revolution 2008 (Atreyu, Hawthorne Heights, Linkin Park, Ashes Divide)- August 14th

so yeah :P  Can't wait until Bullet and Warped.

The Irish Rovers (25th Anniversary Tour) -- 1985
Alias Ron Cavanaugh -- August 1997
Pearl Jam -- July 1998
Warped Tour -- July 2002
David Rovics -- June 2008

In addition to these specific concerts I would add:
- School band concerts (from when I was in school)
- A number of different musicals
- 3 different symphony concerts
- A few different concert at Music Fest Canada 1998 (our high school jazz choir got to perform at Music Fest Canada that year)
- A number of different concerts at Clarinet Fest 2007 in Vancouver
- Weekly noon hour concerts I was required to attend when I was in the music program at Douglas College
- Numerous community band concerts for the New Westminster Community Concer Band I play in
- Numerous performances by artists and bands at left-wing political events and demos

Pennywise
NOFX
Anti-Flag
Flogging Molly

Keep in mind, this was 6 years ago. I'm not sure I would like such a concert as much now.

I went to a Beatles Rain concert earlier this year.  Generally though I'm not a huge fan of concerts.  I prefer the studio work of bands and the concert atmosphere would only work for me in a reserved environment.

I've seen that Rain cover band of the Beatles a couple of times at the PNE, and one time at Central Park (Swanguard Stadium) in Burnaby. I think they're a Vancouver based band.

American Idol: Season 2 -- August 2003
Aaron Carter -- September 2003
Avril Lavigne -- November 2004
Falling Up -- January 2005
Jesse McCartney -- May 2005
American Idol: Season 6 -- July 2007
Jesse McCartney -- August 2007

Also during my last year of high school (2006) some band from California came to perform at our school. I don't think anybody liked them though, they actually reminded me a lot like Fall Out Boy. The lead singer even looked like the FOB's bass player :/

And the first "concert" I ever attended was at a church camp in 2001. I don't remember who they were but me and my friends left in the middle of it cause it was too loud :P

Concerts aren't really that important to me, but I wouldn't mind attending at least rock concert in my lifetime.
