Yeah I would like to attend a concert of a band I like at some point, if they're still around that is.  It's actually interesting how many of my favorites still do perform together actually.

I'm going to see Pearl Jam tonight at GM place. Leaving in 40 minutes. Concert will undoubtedly rock. My seat sucks though, it's in the nosebleed section. That's what I get for waiting until four days before the concert to get a ticket. :P

Let see..I've seen NSync in 200, Avril in 2003, Blue Oyster Cult in 2007, American Idol in 2004. I'm going to see Billy joel and Elton John in concert the Tuesday week before Thanksgiving.
"Some dont believe he ever existed, but that isnt true. He was here, and he was real. The real question is what was he, and why was he here. Many rumors speculate as to what he was. Some believe he was some kind of demon worm creature who would pose as a librarian. Others believed he was an angel sent to spread the word of god. The truth is, I dont know what he was. All I know is what he taught me. Love, friendship, and what it means to truly live. Some call him a monster, something children are terrified by. I only know him by what he called himself. I went to a Beatles Rain concert earlier this year.  Generally though I'm not a huge fan of concerts.  I prefer the studio work of bands and the concert atmosphere would only work for me in a reserved environment.

That's interesting. What do you mean by reserved environment exactly?

As for me, last show I saw was Green Day of course. Those guys are like wine. They seem to get better with age. The put on a great show. A lot of audience participation and by participation, I really mean that. Billie Joe gets people up on stage to not only sing on one or two songs but play his guitar on another song. He'll talk to audience members, tell little stories, that sort of thing.

In other words, it was a pretty classy setup in a beautiful building and fans tended to clap applause more than shout it.  It was less of a wild experience than some concerts can be.

Certainly not the description of a punk rock show but then I agree with some of your sentiments. You could have gone to a Pantera show back in the day and come home with something bleeding. o.O They didn't really work with security which meant that the headstock on Dimebag Darrell's Dean ML kept getting snapped off because a few crazy fans would rush the stage.

I guess it depends on the band but I like watching the band as opposed to moshing...mostly cause I'm a musician and want to see how each member is playing their parts and how they're interacting with each other in addition to enjoying the live music. +1 on the beautiful set up.

I guess it is interesting to see the bands playing their parts.  However, given that most of the my favorite bands, if they tour at all as a unit, have taken a hit due to dead or departed members that it's hardly the same feeling anymore anyways.  Perhaps if I followed more modern bands or if older ones were all still that might have more of an impact.  There's always the Rolling Stones I guess, but it's hard to get motivated for the opportunities for me.
