YAY!! GO OBAMA!!
"Some dont believe he ever existed, but that isnt true. He was here, and he was real. The real question is what was he, and why was he here. Many rumors speculate as to what he was. Some believe he was some kind of demon worm creature who would pose as a librarian. Others believed he was an angel sent to spread the word of god. The truth is, I dont know what he was. All I know is what he taught me. Love, friendship, and what it means to truly live. Some call him a monster, something children are terrified by. I only know him by what he called himself. Weird 4." - nicest comment ever!

I'm just happy that's all over with now!  I'm so sick of politics!  The ONE good thing about a demacrat winning is that now it will finally be over, whereas if a republican won then it would carry on for several more weeks...

Whatever, I'll still support the president (even if I don't agree with him).

I'm kinda like you Amanda in that I don't get excited about politics too much.  There's always going to be something that I don't agree with for any politician, but at the same time if I was in the position to vote in the US election I would have voted for Obama as well.  What I find more interesting is the social barriers crossed by this election.

Meh, he'll probably govern to the right of Stephen Harper.

I'm happy with the outcome as well. I'm also glad the Democrats padded their majority in congress. America needs to swift action now and one party in power can be beneficial. I on the other do enjoy politics quite a bit.

I'm just glad all of this talk is pretty well over now. Election night at work was like living hell. All our black employees kept calling all the white folk racist because Obama is dark-skinned, but not exactly black. Either way, 61% of the people who voted for Obama were in fact white, so I've been shoving that in their faces. I wasn't rooting for Obama or McCain though -- and far from Hillary. I don't want a woman in office, because I know how we are and well, I'd rather not have to live with a pain in the ass. Personally, I wanted Ron Paul to win, but alas, he didn't make it so far. Oh well.

It's pretty sad though, considering I'd just turned 18 this year, so I could actually vote. Didn't really care too much about it though, but I hated having people ask me what I was going to register as. All that wanted to do was either persuade me to register as a Republican or a Democrat. Next year by golly, I'm registering as an Independent though. Then I'm going to tell everybody to shove it. sm6

Anyway, obviously politics doesn't settle too well with me. Actually, they never have because that's all I hear in my house and since I've grown up and everything. The topic just makes me want to barf. I had to keep telling my manager on election night to just shut up and do his job. Guess I was especially upset about it because I was at work though. I'm not a fond believer in bringing up politics at work and everything. Alright, I'm shutting up now because this is becoming pointless and more of a discussion, heh.

Just be sure not to accidently register for the Independence Party. A lot of people do that.

The independents are always intriguing, or at least where I am.  I'm not familiar enough with the US political system to know how similar it is, but the thing I pay most attention is to see what independents feel they would contribute to the community. I consider myself when elections are around a non-voter until or if I've personally decided otherwise.  I consider it different from being undecided.  Just the way it's set up for us, while sensible in some ways, it really is hard to get excited.

I know a lot of people who are registered as independents, and I'll probably register as one because I hate to be typecast as either Republican or Democrat even though I'll most likely always vote Democratic :P
