Yeah, I was never a fan of public speaking either. But I usually suck it up and get it over with anyways with no problem.

I probably wouldn't be comfortable with it even if I knew everybody as friends and/or family.  It's just intimidating to have so many eyes focused on you.

Although I love oral presentations and I really do thrive with them, I have to admit they are most of the time rather unfair. Some of the time, such as in my English class this past year, they served as a just assessment as my teacher was very understanding if someone was not fluent at orating. A lot of the time she would allow the person the time and hints necessary to allow them to overcome their nerves. But then there are some of these assignments that are quite slanted, my Spanish teacher would dock points for 5 second hesitations, which is not right. These reports don't test your knowledge of the subject at all when they're executed that way.
I'm back

Wow, that is unfair, lol.  I have to say most of the presentation I have done in the past were with fiarly reasonable teachers I think.  My last year I got a little better at it.  Presentations (a public speaking course, basically) helped a lot with that I think.  I still get nervous but nothing like I had been when I started high school.

I have gotten amazingly better at public speaking! Haha, I can't believe how comfortable I can be in front of 50 people or more. Years of drama club back in the day did the trick for sure hahaha. Being creative and not make the speech boring is basically the trick for me. I would hate to bore myself and the audience, so I try to keep people actually listening and awake the whole time! D:
I love these guys <3

Oral Presentations aren't my strength unless its a group project. When I'm up with someone else I'm not nervous but when it's just me I blank out for a moment and start rdoing things like clearing my throat and speaking in a high voice and shakeing a lot. I have a presentation on the Monday before thanksgiving and I'm going to try the "people in their underwear" trick...or i could talk to the wall.
"Some dont believe he ever existed, but that isnt true. He was here, and he was real. The real question is what was he, and why was he here. Many rumors speculate as to what he was. Some believe he was some kind of demon worm creature who would pose as a librarian. Others believed he was an angel sent to spread the word of god. The truth is, I dont know what he was. All I know is what he taught me. Love, friendship, and what it means to truly live. Some call him a monster, something children are terrified by. I only know him by what he called himself. Weird 4." - nicest comment ever!

I remember in high school when if I was presented with someone in French it was so hard not to laugh at their pronunciations, lol.  I had to think of something sad to combat it.  If you're going into something in university that involves a fair amount of oral presentation that might help a bit in trying to overcome some of the hesitations with them.
