Full House Movie In The Works
« on: July 19, 2009, 02:36:11 AM »
This seems like much more than a rumour given the quotes from John Stamos himself.  However, the biggest thing about this is it wouldn't be the original cast.  Think the original premise of the series expanded to a feature length film.  Im' actually very intrigued by this and if it were to actually happen certainly would want to see this.  Here is the article!

Former Full House star John Stamos is putting together an all-star cast to take the hit U.S. family sitcom to the big screen in a new feature film.

Stamos rose to fame as 'Uncle' Jesse Katsopolis in the series, which ran from 1987 to 1995 and starred twin media moguls Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and actors Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, Jodie Sweetin, and Candace Cameron Bure.

He tells the New York Daily News, "I'm working on a movie idea, but it wouldn't be us playing us. I'm not 100 per cent sure, but it would probably take place in the first few years. I see Steve Carell as (Bob Saget's character) Danny Tanner and Tracy Morgan as (Dave Coulier's character) Joey Gladstone because he's funny."

But the actor has dashed hopes of fans desperate to see the original cast reunited on the small screen.

He adds, "I don't see it happening anytime soon. We're all very close. I saw Ashley a couple weeks ago. Bob and Dave I see a lot."

Wow, that would absolutely be great to see a movie from them. However, it probably wouldn't be the same without the same cast!
I've been wishing for a movie for the longest time from them haha. Hopefully, it would be a big on-screen reunion for everyone to see. :)
I love these guys <3

I'm less enthusiastic about a reunion with the original cast given what John Stamos said.  It certainly would be neat, but I guess they're just not in that place.

I'd rather see the original cast. In my opinion of course.
"Some dont believe he ever existed, but that isnt true. He was here, and he was real. The real question is what was he, and why was he here. Many rumors speculate as to what he was. Some believe he was some kind of demon worm creature who would pose as a librarian. Others believed he was an angel sent to spread the word of god. The truth is, I dont know what he was. All I know is what he taught me. Love, friendship, and what it means to truly live. Some call him a monster, something children are terrified by. I only know him by what he called himself. Weird 4." - nicest comment ever!

It would be nice to see them altogether, but I have a feeling a new version of the concept would probably be fresher and less contrived.  Of course, ideally we'd get both, lol.

That sounds really awesome!  Of course I wish they'd use the original cast...but this sounds cool too. :)

What do you all think about the choices John suggested, by the way?  I'm not too familiar with Tracy Morgan but Steve Carell would certainly be an interesting way to go, lol.

Sorry to post again, but I was reading a number of other articles on this subject as well.  I also this article with someone else putting in who they would ideally like to have in the role.  Feel free to comment on those choices if you like.  I knew of all of them except one.

Yeah, I imagine if they go with a new cast it will have a certain spirit to it but also be unique.  Now the bigger question for me would be what kind of plot could it have and how good of a movie can it be?

I think she might be almost a little too well-known to fit comfortably in with that role, especially considering some of the audience it might be focusing upon.  On the other hand, the star power would certainly coax a ton of fans to see it if you're basing this from a financial perspective.

Yeah. I would NOT like Miley Cyrus as DJ.  Bad fit. :P
I suppose that would attract the Hannah Montana crowd though (tweens..)

As far as the original cast goes, I think it might be more realistic to expect more of a cameo. I'm not if a FH movie would turn out well, but regardless I really hope this happens anyways.

I actually don't really like any of those choices...I think it would be really awesome if they chose unknowns for all of the roles, or at least some of them.  And Miley Cyrus could NOT EVER IN A MILLION YEARS be DJ.  I think I would cry if she was DJ.  I like Abigail Breslin, she was good in My Sister's Keeper, but she just doesn't really seem like Stephanie at all to me.
