Guest Star As Self or Character?
« on: August 14, 2009, 03:33:27 AM »
Based on the guest stars on FH, would you say you preferred it more when guest stars starred as themselves (I'm sure you know who they would be) or as fictional characters (like Kirk Cameron as cousin Steve)?  Usually the big stars were pretty much made to be name-dropped but there were still some memorable characters played by well-known people.

I would say I tended to like when guest stars played characters because it fit more within the reality of the show and didn't make it like the Tanners were always running into ranomd celebrities, lol.  It was nice to see the 1988 Beach Boys of course.

I liked it when Steve Urkel was on FH. Bets episode ever. Plus it was hilarious.
"Some dont believe he ever existed, but that isnt true. He was here, and he was real. The real question is what was he, and why was he here. Many rumors speculate as to what he was. Some believe he was some kind of demon worm creature who would pose as a librarian. Others believed he was an angel sent to spread the word of god. The truth is, I dont know what he was. All I know is what he taught me. Love, friendship, and what it means to truly live. Some call him a monster, something children are terrified by. I only know him by what he called himself. Weird 4." - nicest comment ever!

So that would mean you probably like the guest star playing a character.  It was amusing with Urkel trying to show Jesse how to walk.  Plus the awkward talk with Stephanie was sweet, lol.

I'm pretty sure you're just goofing around but Urkel is the character, not the actor anyways, lol. sm5

Yeah.  It might make more sense if you were a big Family Matters fan.  Of course, they could still have the person somewhat playing themselves like Will Smith in Fresh Prince of Bel-Air playing the character of Will Smith, but that doesn't happen that frequently I don't think.

Just think how crazy Full House would been if, for example, they were the Olsen family and Michelle inexplicably had two names because there were two actresses and they were trying to play a character of the same name. sm5
