DJ Tanner awoke on the morning of May 28th, 1995, at first as if it were any old Saturday. However, within one second, she realized that it was the day of her high school graduation! She wanted desperatly to share her excitement with Steve, but since the fight (or was it a break-up) the night before, she realized sadly that she couldn't call him.
Why did I do it? she wondered. Why did I throw away the safest thing in my life? I'm supposed to be the sensible one, not the one who throws everything away!

"Inviting every Tanner in America is not over-doing it!" Danny assured Joey and Jesse the next morning.
"Still... do I have to shell out to the rebel twins?" asked Jesse.
"Suzanne and Leanne are family. And there's nothing wrong with 'couching it. Yes, and Nicky'll couch it with you...'"
"Yeah... and I'll just LOVE the alcove again." said Joey.
"My mother needs a real room! Let's see... Jesse, your parents have their own place to stay, and my poor sister Wendy'll have to stay in a sleeping bag considering Joey and Joey's mother'll be taking up the alcove. And my nephew Steve and his new wife Geraldine will be staying with their adopted daughter Monique in the recording studio."
Joey and Jesse shared a look, then Jesse approached Danny.
"Danny, um, listen: I told you I'm quitting music, so I was thinking that we could turn the recording studio back into a bedroom, Joey'd move down there, and Steph would finally have her own room."
"HOORAY!!!!" Stephanie cried, coming down the stairs.
"Hooray what? Nothing's been decided." said Danny.
"Sorry. But just thinking about getting my old room back makes me jump for joy!"
*******
"Alright, Steve and Geraldine will be here any moment." said Jesse.
Just then, a little girl entered.
"Salut!" she exclaimed in French. "Je suis Monique Tanner. Je suis la fille de Steve et Geraldine, mais Je suis de Paris. Je ne peux pas attendre reconter ton et ma famille!"
"En Anglais, sil'vous plait." said Joey in his Pepe' le peux accent.
"She said 'Hey, I'm Monique Tanner. I'm Steve and Geraldine's girl, but I am from Paris. I can't wait to meet yours and my family!'" said Steve, entering the house. "As you see, this is Monique, our little adopted daughter. And this is my lovely Geraldine."
"Oh, my goodness, my great-grandaughter!" Danny's mother Claire exclaimed as she ran in and kissed Monique. "Oh, it's great to see everyone! And you-" she said to Jesse. "I'm still after that room of yours."
"Claire, I'm in the attic now."
"Even better!"
"How you guys doing, Jesse, Joey?" Steve asked, deliberatly calling Jesse Joey and Joey Jesse for old times sake.
"Could be worse. The second half of the rebel twins isn't here yet." Jesse muttered. Nobody except the kids liked Suzanne and Leanne very much because since the girls ran wild a lot, the parents were paranoid that the girls would turn the kids into little hoodlums.

"Well, what is she doing here?"
"I thought she'd left!"
"Then what is going on?"
"I don't know! Something about her being, well, really 'sick.' Steph and I were hauled off to Gia Mahan's!"
"Because of this?"
"No, because of an ice cream shortage!"
Those were the first voices Becky heard in the morning. For a minute she wondered what she was doing at her old house and what'd happened the night before, so she decided to ask Suzanne and Leanne who were glaring over her.
"Whuh- what happened?"
"You came to get Alex, but when Stephanie found you you'd passed out drunk!" said Leanne.
Suzanne just glared and shook her head.
Becky realized the seriousness of what had happened, and thrust herself back under the covers, and sobbed.
Once Leanne left, Suzanne finally spoke.
"What is wrong with you? How much of a coward are you? Are you afraid of your husband? The man you love? Or are you just screwed up? If you are, I'll take pity on you, since that's what you want, but I'm smarter than that. You brought this all upon yourself. Everyone hates you, but somehow I'm the only one that'll tell you this: you are stupid. Stupid enough to throw away the best thing that you really need. Jesse."
Suzanne left, and Becky rolled over and sighed.
***************
"Hi, DJ."
"Aunt Wendy, hey!" DJ cried as her aunt entered the room.
"Hey, graduate. How are you feeling?"
"Pretty rotten. You see, I broke up with my high school sweetheart Steve last night, and all my safety is gone."
"I know what you mean. I made that choice too. I decided to go around the world and see new things. Even if it meant leaving people behind."
"You always visit us, Aunt Wendy."
"Yeah. Anyway, that's why I am the way I am."
"I wouldn't mind being the way you are, Aunt Wendy."
They hugged, and Wendy left.
Becky had heard all of this. She realized how awful she'd been not only to Jesse and her kids.
"No wonder she hates me." she said softly.
"Aunt Becky? Did you say something?" asked DJ.
"No... but I will now. I'm really sorry that I've been such a lousy aunt. And I was wondering if I could still come to your graduation.... after I apologize to your Uncle Jesse."
DJ gave her Aunt a hug. She was glad that things were going back to normal.
"Of course. I still have your ticket. Being the valedictorian DOES have some perks. And.... nobody hates you. Not me, not Uncle Jesse. Would he take care of someone he hated?"
Then it dawned on Becky. It was JESSE who had put her to bed. It was JESSE who had made excuses. It was JESSE who still loved her so she had to find him.
Okay, sorry, I lied, this wasn't the last chapter.
