It's been days since I registered and I still haven't recieved my verification email? What's wrong?Several email providers either put it in your junk mail; you may see it there... or.... you can't see it altogether. If this happens, log on and change your account email to a webmail you might have (Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, though not AOL) as these are usually pretty good for those...
What is a strike?A strike is a unit that is part of the punishment system here at HowRude. When members break rules to a certain degree they are given a strike. One strike expires after two months ONLY if you haven't recieved any additional strikes in the two month period. Here's a chart:
1 strike: Warning
2 strikes: Second Warning
3 strikes: Suspension for one day
4 strikes: Suspension for one week (seven days)
5 strikes: Suspension for four weeks (about a month)
6 strikes: Permanent Ban
Hey I wanna be a moderator/global moderator/co-admin? Where do I apply? The staff chooses whether you are to be a mod. If you're not asked, don't ask. The answer will more than likely be no, especially if you haven't been here for a very long time.
Why is this forum so slow?It is most likely because of the ISP you are using. If you want to fix this problem, get broadband/DSL.
I don't fully understand the rules? Who do I go to?fishywishy, our admin is best, but if you want a quick answer if one of the gmods are online, feel free to PM them too.
A staff member is acting in a way I think is inappropriate. Is there anyway I could do something about it?Once you get 100 posts (and you're strike-free

) you are able to impeach all staff except for fishywishy However, in order to impeach a staff member you must get the prior consent of a 50% majority of staff gmod and above. In addition, if their behavior is deemed malicious enough, they may recieve a strike.
I keep on hearing about this member's HowRude blog, or that member's HowRude blog. How do I get one?Blogs are an internal feature of HowRude; go to:
http://howrude.proboards36.com/index.cgi?board=blogand go to the bottom and click on "Apply for Blog" and then follow the directions at the beginning of the thread.
Why is everything on the forum referred to in Eastern Time, (GMT - 5)?Our administrator Fishywishy, as well as a majority of our members use Eastern, so it is the official forum time. If we are having a chat or similar event, we will also alternately post the Pacific (GMT -

time for the event. Most of our members are located within the United States and Canada, so we feel little need to accomodate timezones outside the Americas.
When do the most people come on to this site? The weekends between 3pm-8pm EST tends to be the busiest time of the week, but it varies more often than not.
What is Karma?From dictionary.com:
The total effect of a person's actions and conduct...of the person's existence.
Basically, it is how well-liked a person is at these forums. The figures are very highly distorted (especially once you get in upwards of 30 karma) by some groups that use karma more than others, which is why a person with 200 karma and a person with 40 karma can appear to be equally liked. Any member can change the karma of anyone, however, by either exalting or smiting. Exalting means you like the person, and their karma will go up. Smiting means you do not like the person, and their karma will go down. It's simpler than it sounds though, and you will get the hang of it quickly.
