The Fashion on Full House
« on: November 10, 2006, 01:07:44 AM »
This is a thread for discussion of the fashion/clothes that the characters wore on full house.

I'll start things off with some of my general thoughts on the fashion of the Full House characters.

I think the fashion on Full House generally improved over the course of the show, although I don't think it was a completely linear progression. There is a lot of variation in the quality of the fashion from one episode to the next, and from one character to another. However, I think all of the regular cast had a general improvement in their fashion over the course of the show.

My favourite best dressed characters are Stephanie and DJ, specifically in the later seasons. That said, all of the main characters wore outfits that I liked, and outfits that I didn't like.  I can't decide who the worst dressed character is.

We can discuss more specific aspects of this topic as the thread progresses.

well I'd say that the fashion progressed as time did.  Obviously since FH was such a long show, the way they dressed would've changed with the fashion at the time, thus "improving" because it'd be closer to how fashion is today  ;D
Umm.. as for my favorite outfits.. I don't really like any of the too much (too retro, haha) but the clothes they wore really represent the era well  ;)

I actually prefer the fashion from the later seasons of the show over current fashion. I quite like the "grunge" fashion of the early to mid 90's (plaid shirts, stonewashed denim, sneakers, coulours like forest green, blue, purple, red, maroon, ect.).

I thought DJ's fashion in the 4th season was hideous.  My mom didn't like her hair then lol.

I'm really not a fashion person myself.  Although I think some of the stuff worn by particularly the guys early on were somewhat...tacky, it definitely shows a different trend at the time that has some form of nostalgia.

I, myself, probably preferred the mid-season clothing styles the best for whatever reason.  Just my minimal observations of it from that time made me feel like it had ample variety without extremes.  I like neutral colors very well.

I would definitely agree that DJ's hair was the worst in season 4.

Some of DJ's season four outfits were terrible. The one that sticks out in my mind is the floral suit jacket DJ wore in the episode Happy New Year, when she went to Kimmy's New Years Eve party with Ricky. That said, some of DJ's season four outfits were not that bad. For instnace, I liked DJ's outfits in Crimes and Michelle's Misdimeanor and The-Hole-In-The-Wall-Gang.

well, his consisted of like leather pants, a wife beater, and a leather jacket LMAO....and a suit on some occasions  :P....lol anyway i remember this one HIDEOUS outfit becky wore once (as much as i hate to admit it!), it was like a collared shirt that had the back and around the collar cut out of it, and then a tie....she looked HEINOUS....otherwise i thought becky had pretty decent clothes (except for the Breaking Up is Hard to Do little white blouse with a black vest attached...GAG lmao)....dj's style varied, but got better as she got older....steph got worse as she got older ....the guys always wore like the same general thing...michelle, well she was a kid, she wasn't suppposed to have fashion sense!!

I agree that DJ's fashion style generally got better as she got older. There was a noticable improvement in DJ's style between seasons 4 and 5. I would disagree that Steph's style got worse. I thought it also generally improved over the course of the show, with Stephs's style in seasons 7 and 8 being equally good.

Are you kidding? Jesse and Joey had a considerable improvement in their fashion over the course of the show, although it was mostly due to changes in fashion. Jesse was no longer wearing leather vests and pants, and he wan't wearing suits very often either. He was wearing a lot more  plaid shirts and jeans.  Joey was no longer wearing extra tacky hawaian shirts. Admittedly, Danny did wear the same general thing, but he wore much better suits at the end of the series.

The outfits DJ and Stephanie wore in the hole-in-the-wall gang.....Some people probably didn't like them, but I did, I even got legging-shorts like they wore and I wear them with this pink shirt and pretend that we're twins whenever i watch that episode!  LOL!
