Those Better Not Be The Days= :P
« on: January 16, 2007, 09:34:38 PM »
I am not a big fan of this episode. it just seemed too unrealistic.
Lets start at the beginning. Right after the theme song, you see a picture of the house and all, and it was sunny. The girls say they're going to a theme park with Kimmy. Five minutes after we see the picture, it's black and pouring rain. It doesn't rain when there are no clouds in the sky five minutes earlier.
Now lets go to the part where the guys are imagining. Number one, the guys wouldn't be that old when the girls were that old. Number two, DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle look the same age, or a few years apart, and Michelle wouldn't still say ''ouce-cream.'' Number three, shouldn't Jesse and Becky be married already? And have kids? Becky wouldn't be that old either. Number four, wouldn't all three girls have moved out and had their own familes? And to add to that, even id they did still live there, wouldn't they all at least have their own rooms? Or at least make it look different? It looks the exact same. Number five, DJ and Stephanie wouldn't be fighting like children all the time if they were adults, and Stephanie wouldn't say ''How Rude!'' and ''I love my life!'' all the time. The girls act so childish when they are supposed to be adults! And do you really think Kimmy would still annoy the Tanners like she did when she was a kid?
This episode was not at all appealing to me. I really don't like episodes that are unrealistic. I know in that one part they guys were imagining, but you'd think they'd make it more realistic. All I think of this episode is  :P
What do you guys think?

In my opinion it is one of if not the worst episode of Full House. The only bright spot in the episode was Joey's line "Don't blame me, I'm just the old fat guy who lives in the basement". I thought that was just hilarious.

I think they kind of like stretched the little things about the girls when they were younger for when they were older like Michelle still saying ouce-cream

Do you know what I mean?

Yeah, I didn't really like this episode either. It just seemed so unrealistic and not to mention all those goof that occured in that episode. (Like what AJ said about the weather).

I didn't mind it, especially considering that didn't take up the whole episode.  I'll try to go through what you said and see how I think of each point, lol.

I'd consider this more of a glimpse of the writers just not thinking about that at the beginning and wouldn't attribute to being unrealistic, unless they said something about it specifically that I can't remember.  If they were aware, I think they'd make it more of a transitional thing where it isn't that bad to start but isn't sunny either.

The only thing I see differently here is that this flashforward had no intention to be accurate portrayal of real life or even the FH future.  It was an intentional exaggeration to emulate the guys' turmoiled view points at their current state.  They were basically imagining life years down the road but with only using the character traits and such they know of at that time.  It's more a symbol of the guys' being frightened of things not moving forward as time goes on.  And their guys were more of the outlook they had because sometimes a reaction from people their age of when kids are grown up might go something like "My gosh, I'll be all old and frail."

Now, I'm not saying that episode was all that great, but I wouldn't say because it was unrealistic.  Daydreams aren't going to be made like it actually will be, only a loose, silly representation.  Outside of this part of the episode, which doesn't take up as much as it may seem, I don't think the episode is bad at all.  Not amazing, but okay.

I also agree with SLL's post.  The guys had fears of being stuck with the parental role forever and felt without making headway, they would continue to act their current age.

Sorry for bumping this up (and 2X posting for that matter), but I just recently watched this episode again.  The flashforward is somewhat overdone but is meant to be taken lightly, not realistically.  I would deem it on on-par or better than pretty much all the other sequences (Jesse and his future life at the car garage, Michelle's foot dream, and DJ's big test, etc.)  And considering it actually takes up only a small portion of the episode, I consider it a strong one overall.

A lot of the other parts of it were really entertaining, especially when DJ and Steph were forced to give the guys their lunch and had to respond to every single detail they were asking.  The coming of the storm came very quickly, but it really wouldn't make a difference if they hadn't spludged the house shot.

i thought the flash forward was pretty funny in some parts, but a little obnoxious in others....not realistic, no, but would a realistic one have had the same comedic value?  most likely not  :P lol.....i didn't like their portrayal of becky in the flash, but the 3 guys were funny  ;D .....i liked the fat old guy in the basement line, and the "she was so smart when she was three" one too , kimmy was funny too, the guys really got their comeuppance for a minute there for being so mean to her
