Were Seasons 7 & 8 ruined?

I think too many people here are too harsh on seasons 7 & 8. Seasons 7 & 8 did have their faults, but they also had their good points. It seems too many people dump all over seasons 7 & 8 because of Michelle, and because of other minor characters they don't like. Too many people here hardly recognize that there are positive aspects to seasons 7 & 8, and that these seasons were not "ruined".

Well I don't think they were as good as seasons 5 or 6 but still very good. I loved the more mature problems that the show dealt with. In my opinion that was what made 7 and 8 good.

I really liked 7, the first half was just like 6.  Although I do find season 8 kind of dry, I don't think it was "ruined."  It was just pure fact- there was nothing else to do on the show.  In season 8, you could really feel it winding down to the end.

Yeah, the last 2 seasons did involve a lot of "Michelle plots" but thats not exactly why Seasons 7 + 8 were "ruined." I kind of liked the first half of Season 7, but after DJ and Steve broke up, it fell kind of dry and unfortunately, the dryness continues on into Season 8.

I agree with Regina, but other than that I actually like those two seasons. I have several favorite episodes from them. Though, I don't like them as much as I like the other seasons.

Ruined is too harsh of a word.  They still had some great moments with very entertaining episodes.  I think I have to compare it to the rest of the series.  Outside of season 1, I don't think they were on-par with the others.

I'll compare it to music for a second.  Let's say there's a band you like.  They've released several albums and the most recent one is better than most others you ever listen to but not quite up to what those earlier works of the same band were.

And, although Michelle was very annoying during those seasons, she is not the reason I don't like them as much as others.  Otherwise, season 5 could very possible be the worst.  

I guess I just didn't enjoy the plots or characterizations as much during those times.  The biggest thing that captured me in FH was the aura, and it seemed noticably lessened at that point in the series in my mind.

I hardly think season 8 was dry. Maybe some individual episodes were dry; but that doesn't make the whole season dry.

Yeah, I guess you're right. There were actually a few episodes from Season 7 that I did find enjoyable.

I think the series was just running out of interesting storylines.  The DJ love triangle never really interested me, and for some reason, that's what I think of everytime I think season 8.  But as some have said, I do think both seasons had some good episodes.  But I'm a rare Michelle fan, sssooo

haha well don't worry, just b/c we're not all michelle fans doesn't mean we discriminate against them or anything  .....yeah DJ did have that weird thing w/ the richie-rich nelson and badass viper.....that was definitely kinda weird, but i have to say i liked the DJ's choise episode anyway

I don't think DJ dating Nelson and Viper was weird at all. As for the episode DJ's Choice, I like it except for Frankie Vallie singing in the park. It was just so fake. When nelson said he had the park wired for sound the previous evening, how could he have known DJ was going to be there the next day? DJ didn't even know she was going to be there until right before the tanners went to the park.
