There were a number of recurring characters on Full House. For puposes of this thread I will consider a recurring character anyone who appeared in multiple Full House Episodes without ever appearing in the credits.

Over the course of the series there was a general increase in the number of recurring characters.

The following is a list of what I consider the notable recurring characters:

Gia (Seasons 7-8)
Claire (Season 8)
Kathy Santoni (Seasons 3-4)

Duane (Season 8)
Aaron (Seasons 3-8)
Teddy (seasons 5-6& 7-8)
Denise (Seasons 6-7)
Derek S. Boyd (Seasons 6-8)
Lisa Leaper (Season 8)
Claire Tanner (Seasons 1 & 3)
Nick Katsopolis (Season 2)
Irene Kapsopolis (Season 2)
Papouli (Seasons 4 & 7)
Cindy (Season 4)
Rusty (Season 4)
Vicky Larsen (Seasons 5-7)
Mr. Strowbridge (Seasons 2-8)

Which recurring characters do you like? Which ones don't you like? Which ones would you like to have seen in more epiosdes? Which ones do you wish had been only one-off minor characters, or had not appeared at all? Are there any one-off minor characters you would like to have been recurring characters?

Off the bat I will say that I would like Kathy Santoni to have been in some more episodes in seasons 5-8. I will also say off the bat that I would get rid of Mrs. Carruthers (I can't stand her).

The big ones that stand out to me as ones I would like to have seen more/again would include Rusty, Cindy, Claire Tanner, , Harry, and Nick and Irene Katsopolis (who also appeared in season 1 as a different actress like Claire).  I'd say all of them were quite involved in episodes and disappeared without acknowledgement.  Granted there were some others (like Vicky), these are the ones I would have liked to have seen appear again.

I don't share the dislike to Mrs. Carruthers that you do though.  I liked how she kept showing her attraction for Joey.  But I didn't need to see her again either.

I would like to have seen one more episode with Cindy and Rusty, and have Danny and Cindy break up. I didn't like that after Danny dated cindy for three episodes, she dissapeared without any explanation.

I hear what you're saying about Claire Tanner, and Nick & Irene Katsopolis. It seems strange that the Tanners didn't have more contact with Nick & Irene after season 2, and Claire Tanner after season 3. On the other hand, I wasn't a big fan of these characters (except for when Joey accidentally winds up in bed with Irene, which is hillarious), and they didn't really fit the feel of the later seasons (6-8).

It annoyed me how they had the episode where Claire Tanner was going to move right into the neighborhood and was never shown ever again, even on holidays.  It was also weird how Nick and Irene were shown quite a bit in season 2 and were basically only there for the Wedding after that time.

I wouldn't want them on a regular basis either, but the occasional appearance of maybe once per season would be suitable I'd say.  I guess I valued that they had some type of relationship with them on screen.  It could be sparse, but just knowing they weren't just forgotten about or shoved under the rug would make all the difference.  I guess it's one thing I really try to appreciate on sitcoms, lol.

I liked all of Michelle's friends, Micky, and Gia as recurring characters. I didn't really like Mrs. Carruthers @ all. She was really annoying and had quite a thing for Joey. It's kind of weird how most of those characters were in like every episode one season, and then next season you never see or hear from them ever again.

I liked Lisa, Derek, Duane (lol), Gia, Rusty, and Micky. Yeah, Mrs. Carruthers was pretty annoying, but it was hilarious to see her hit on Joey, haha. It was weird when Micky just mysteriously disappeared once Stephanie became good friends with Gia, it would've been nice to have seen her in more episodes. DJ and Michelle were the ones that had a friend that lasted since the earlier seasons, like Kimmy Gibbler or Aaron. It would've been nice to see one of Stephanie friends from the earlier seasons the same way, like maybe Walter or Harry.

I loved harry and Walter.  In a couple of my fanfics, I am including them.  i think that Steph would have stayed friends with them for a little longer, at least farther than the early season 3.  Although around that time girls usually do stop playing with boys, but they had a close bond.

I don't really care either way on most of their friends.  They didn't bring things down but didn't add much to me either.   I did like some of Michelle's friends better than her I guess though.

I don't find Michelle's friends annoying in and of themselves (apart from Denise). What I didn't like was that Michelle's friends took airtime away from Steph and DJ, especially in seasons 7-8. I wouldn't have done away with Michelle's friends entirely (unless I did away with Michelle, which I'm leaning away from); however I would probably have cut the number of Michelle's friends, and I probably wouldn't have kept any episodes that were Michelle & friends.

I like Micky, and I like Gia after she becomes Stephanie's friend. I wish  those two characters had been in more episodes/seasons. I also wish they were the same age as Steph, not a year or two older.

I like Harry, and wish he was in more episodes/seasons; though I wouldn't have wanted him in seasons 6-8, as he doens't fit the mood of those seasons. I would have liked it if Harry were in the series until either season 4 or 5, and then was written off the show in an episode where he moves away. I don't like walter, and could have done without him.

Eventually Gia was in the same grade as Stephanie, but thats because Gia was left back in 7th/8th grade for about 2 years. I would have wanted her and Mickey to be in a few more episodes, instead of just a few. (Though Gia was in a lot of Season 8 episodes).

No, Wendy was only in the episode Too Much Monkey Business. While I would have liked her in more episodes, I wouldn't want her monkey to be in more episodes. The monkey's obsession with Jesse was too annoying.
