Season 8 Michelle
« Reply #15 on: March 07, 2007, 03:12:19 AM »

"bitch" has basically become a word used to describe anyone you don't like, or as a joke to a friend....i use it sometimes, and i very rarely take it seriously when people call me one  :P because it's usually used in jest.  but of course it's degrading to women, if it weren't then it wouldn't be an insult!  it's the exact same as calling a guy an asshole, it's not like calling a chick a bitch is being sexist or anything (depends on the situation, but usually i mean).  the way he was using it, to describe michelle, seems appropriate as michelle was an attention hog and a drama queen, both of which seem like qualities of a "bitch" to me  ;)

I still think the term is sexist. There are some people who could convince me otherwise, people whose opinions I respect on these matter, but it's not anyone here. I would rather people not use this term, but obviously I can't force anyone here not to use it. If the discussion on the acceptability of this term continues, I may request that this thread be locked.

While I hate to break it to you leftturn but nobody would have bothered debating on the word bitch if you hadn't spent a post pointing it out. So anyways let's bring this thread back on topic. What were some of the qualities of Season 8 Michelle? I thought a big one was her relationship with Stephanie and the constant snooping she did, sure it couldn't have matched the first few seasons between Stephanie and DJ but it was always enjoyable.

SHE STUNK!  MK&A were baaaaaaaaaaad actresses and it seemes so fake.  It almost mad me want to turn the show off.  They were really good when they were like four, but it seemed like in season 8 that they didn't want to be there.

What were some of the good qualities of Season 8 Michelle?
The plotlines involving Nicky and Alex with her.  It was kind of a karma thing since they acted in a similar way to what Michelle was like a few years before.  Off the top of my head, there was that banter in the park in DJ's Choice and the story that clashed with Jesse and Joey 'forgiving' each other (at least I think that last one was in season 8...if not, 7).

The plots with Michelle and Nicky & Alex wern't bad, however they did mean less lines for Steph and/or DJ.

Actually, Nicky and Alex getting a lesson in "forgiveness" was mid-Season 8.

Well, good then.  It fits into my comment better that way.  ;D

Yeah, I'd prefer more Stephanie and DJ episodes (which probably was a constant issue by the time season 4 came around), but if I had to have something with Michelle, it would probably be something like that.  I mean if I were to delete something with Michelle in that year, it would probably be one of the last I would choose.  First obviously being when she was acting bratty, lol.

Under the Influence (the lesson in forgiveness one) is one of my absolute faves from season 8...it was funny but not in a stupid slapstick sort of way, plus it was very....true, i guess you could say  :P

I think that in season 8, MK and Ash tried too hard.  I noticed that sometimes they tried too hard to annunciate, and it became fake sounding.  However, Michelle was not as bratty, because she had mostly out grown her I'm-the-cute-baby-princess stage.

She may have out grown her princess stage but she was still getting treated as if she were the princess. As far as MK & A trying to hard I think it was because they were older and may have been old enough to relize that they were getting paid to play the role of Michelle.

She was okay.
Every eight year old is like that. Believe me I know. My older sister Carly said I was just like Michelle at that age. And my little sister Niamh was like that too but eventually she grew out of it. And I know my 4 year old sister Ruby will be like that one day too. Same with my 3 year old brother Miro and 7 week old brother Remy.
Acting like a know it all and being snobby just comes with being an eight year old kid.

So imo Michelle was just like every other kid. Stephanie was just.....eww/blegh at that age. Season 3 mostly.
I liked Michelle best in......seasons 1-4. She was cuute.  :D

dude i know all a/b the whole stage 8 year old girls are going thru...i have a lil sister who just turned 10 and is obnoxious as all get-out, which is probably why michelle particularly gets to me; she is just like my sister whom i hate so LOL!!  she hasn't grown out of it yet, and i ran out of patience quite a while ago

My sister is 12 years old and still acts like she is the princess of the house (which is probally why she was a sign on her door that says the princess sleeps here.) just like michelle was acting at the age of 8. I is so annoying lol.
