Author Topic: Move Image Shop and Links & Advertisement (Read 358 times)

What I've noticed for a long time is that Image Shop and Links and Advertisement really have more in common with the random section that the General section. I'm thinking that we could move those two boards and rename the General category the "Site" category, with just General Board, Input, WBAM, and Updates. It would maybe attract more FH fans because there's less to scroll to before hitting the FH boards. I'm thinking the Random section could be something like this:

About You
Image Shop
Links and Advertisement
Games
Entertainment
Intellectual Discussion
Blogs

I would have to agree.. we haven't rearranged in a while either - if no one objects, I can go ahead and change it up right now..

hmm that looks good except I'm not quite sure I understand the difference between "fun" and "random"
and I'm feeling like the members only board doesn't really have a place, yet it's kinda useful when you want to post something only members can see and it doesn't belong in about you..

And the thing is... member projects are mainly involving FH the show anyway, so I think it fits in that category still, but other than that, it's okay. I think we should start with this for now. I can't see why anyone would object to it anyway, so I'll do it ASAP...

And for csoup's...
I kinda like the idea of About You in the Exclusive, but either way works. Member Projects might be best staying put where they are though. I kind of like the Random and Fun section ideas. It kind of separates the spontaneous thread ideas on pretty much anything from the secondary focuses we have at HR outside of show talk.

I like Csoup's idea a lot, but it seems as if there would be a lot of boards that way. I personally don't like the format that much at all right now because it seems very unbalanced now, like there are a lot of boards in the random board. I dunno, I just liked it the way it was. And if you want to make it as if you don't have to scroll down as much to see the FH boards, just switch the FH category and the General Category.

I also think that you should put the blogs in the Member's Only board, as well as the About You that was mentioned.

Well, I mean those 7 boards have more in common with eachother than with the 4 site boards, really. It may be a lot, but it's just a more useful categorization IMO.

It won't make a difference once we get accustomed to the way it is. It'd be best to keep the general section on top though, I think.

I like the idea of re-ordering, I think Mem. Contributed Projects should be moved to the site/general category as well as the things above.

Yeah, I agree with Fishy's categorization, except the Random category should be at the top and the About You category should be below it.

I like that idea. Before I read this thread and I saw that Links and Advertisement was in the Random section, I thought a gmod or fishywishy or someone was messin' around with it.

i like fishy's too....the reason i posted mine was i knew that the random section was gonna be huge once those two moved to it and i thought it should be split up, but i'm not a very good organizer so i didn't really know how to do it

This definitely makes more sense to me that csoup's grouping. However, I would reverse the two groups. So I would put the one with the Random, Games, Entertainment, and Intellectual discussion first, and the other one second. The group that has the About You, Image Shop, Links and Avertisements, and Blogs boards has more in common with the Exclusive section, and so I would put those two sections next to each other.
