Things that you don't like about Full House
« on: May 18, 2007, 09:36:59 PM »
I had a few things that got on my nerves. One of the things was how almost every episode, they ended up hugging at the end. That bugged me a lot. I wish they would have sometimes ended it as they were just in trouble or something.
I also had a problem with the Jesse music thing. The episodes all focused on Jesse's band were annoying and boring! Sometimes that was the case with Joey's comedy. Those type of episodes really bother me!
So how about you guys?

I liked the hugging actually.  It kind of makes up for the extreme lackthereof in shows today.  Some of the talks got tiring because they went the extra limit to be sentimental, but the actual affection as okay for me.  Some of the Jesse music ones were great for me (although there were some exceptions).  Wasn't a big fan of Joey's music...

But I think it's pretty obvious what stands out for me.  Michelle's behavior at numerous points in the series, and much a lot of the parenting that revolved around it.

Another bad one has got to be the complete disregard for continuity though.  ;)  I think we all got a little frustrated when some characters just came and left unannounced without explanation.

I'd say:
1. Like fhf said, characters disappearing for no reason.
2. The hugging too much.
3. When hardly anyone in Season 8 was hooked up with a steady boyfriend or girlfried like they were in the previous 2 or 3 seasons

Here's some of the main things I don't like about FH:

As previously mentioned, the lack of continuity. There were too many minor recurring characters who just dissapeared with no explanation. Also wish that some of the minor recurring characters were in more episodes in more seasons.

Michelle being a brat in many episodes from season 4 onwards.

The large number of Michelle centred epsiodes, especially in seasons 7 & 8. Also, the large number of episodes involving Michelle's friends.

The season 6 plot where it's revealed that Jesse didn't graduate high school, and then he goes back and finishes it.

The lack of A-plots focussed around DJ & Steph in the later seasons.

The jokes about Danny being extremely cautious (didn't mind him being a neat freak, but the overly cautious thing really got to me.)

Some of the really bad fashions they had on the show.

The overall feel of season 1, with its main focus on the three guys rather than the girls.

When Jesse acts irrationally. For instance, when he pulls Michelle out of preschool, or when he pulls Nicky & Alex out of preschool.

That's one thing I actually don't mind.  It's tacky I know, but considering fashion means very little to me, it has no bearing on my interest.

Yeah, in retrospect, they really were overused of minor characters.  Maybe it's the clash in our interest and the writers' interests, but it's curious how her friend were on the amount of time they were while other characters that I seem to appreciate more got the shaft, lol.

I didn't like season one really at all- It seemed kind of like a pre-show thing almost.  For example, in season one, all of the guys parents were different, there was the problem because in one of the first episodes Jesse said he once went skydiving, but later he said he never jumped.  There was also Bubba the turtle, which you would assume they kept, but he was never seen again.  in some way, the first season seemed kind of just like a well-put on play.  Some of this was the lighting was also different (In a bad way) the first season.

Also, I like dthe hugging.  It was the goal of the producers of FH to get at least one hug an episode.

I don't like how sometimes they would focus on episode on one person too much or make that person seem like they get all the attention or other times when they make someone look better than anyone else which a lot of tv shows tend to do.

I like the hugging. I also don't mind that in season 8 DJ was no longer dating Steve, and that Danny was no longer dating Vicky.

I also don't like episodes where the A plot involves dating except for a few episodes. It irritates me.
Something else I didn't like was the lack of comedy. The show needed more comedy and less intense emotion.

A dating episode could be good or bad if you ask me. c The ones revolving aorund Jesse's old girlfriends usually weren't very good at all, but ones when say Becky and Jesse weren't really a couple yet were quite interesting.  I liked DJ's dating episodes for the most part too.

I agree that the show could have been made funnier.  We saw how hilarious it was when they went a bit risque a couple times (the sexual innuendos adn such).  More physical comedy could have been done.  Sometimes the fact it's more charming than funny isn't a bad thing for me though.  Particularly when some other shows lack any sense of emotions.

AMEN!  haha those were the best, they needed more of that, but then again I guess it really is supposed to be a kiddie show  :P LOL

1. continuity (or lack thereof)
2. hugging
3. Joey not being funny (I liked him, and it pained me when he made crap jokes)
4. Jesse being irrational/an asshole (same thing, I liked him and it pained me  :P)
5. Michelle when she is a brat (like 60% of the time  ;D)

I actually enjoy laughing at the bad fashions (unless they're on Becky in which case I cry....not really but you get the point)

some of Jesse's old girlfriends were amusing, most were obnoxious lol

^I agree with all of those reasons Soupy, except two things: ALL of Jesse's old girlfriends were obnoxious and snooty, and, well personally, IMO Michelle was not really a brat.

not always, she was definitely cute and funny sometimes, but it got old after a while for me

The first three seasons she didn't bother me at all.  I think I have a list of the episodes that particularly bothered me about her, and showed her behavior at its worst...  Some of the problems were because of factors concerning the parenting, but it certainly doesn't make me like any more.
