Recurring character you wish was a main?

I think they should have added Kathy Santoni. Maybe a cool idea for an episode would be having friend battles between DJ, Kimmy and Kathy. What do you think?

Other, by that I mean none, the characters were at best in only a handful of episodes, none of them were developed or distinct enough to make in an interesting main character. If I had to choose though I would probably say Rusty.

I'd say Gia, I mean if DJ's pal Kimmy was a main - even though that didn't happen 'til Season 5 - then Stephanie's pal Gia could have been a main too.

I voted for other, meaning none.  The only characters outside of the household I liked on a regular basis were Kimmy and Steve, and they were regulars in the show at one point or another.  That said, some of the characters that just disappeared  could have had some more screentime if only to give an explanation.

Well, Kimmy was pretty much a main throughout the whole show, except for maybe season one.

And that's why I wasn't able to vote for her in this poll.  For the most part, I think the recurring characters are left off being regulars for some good reason.

I think that at times, but I wish some of the recurring characters are funny/good and I wish they were seen more. Maybe not main, but...seen more, if you know what I mean.

One thing bout the recurring characters is they only appeared in certain parts of the series (i.e. Harry was only seen in 2-3, while Mrs. Carruthers only appeared in 7-8).  If I really had to pick someone, I'd go with the almost one-line character, Duane.

Duane was OK, but he was pretty funny. I loved how he always said ''whatever.'' I also liked Mrs. Carruthers, and her obsession with Joey.

I found it interesting how Duane's delivery could make the line interesting even when you knew it was coming.  I didn't mind Mrs. Carruthers.  I wouldn't have wanted her to be on more often she was though.  The Joey obsession could only go so far.

I think there were enough main characters as is. I would have liked some of those recurring characters to be in more seasons, but I wouldn't want any of them as main characters. The producers had a hard enough time juggling the main characters they had, given that these characters need to be in every episode.

Jesse had one from Dr. Dare or whatever, but that's it

Yeah, when I think about it, they really didn't have many friends outside of the household at all.  We hardly saw relatives consistently during the series even.  I guess some adults (my parents included) really aren't overly social in their regular lives.  Not saying they don't have any friends at all, but you get the picture.  As a viewer, I'm much more interested in the family than some friends of course.

I liked the mystique that she was used sparingly and only because she was usually the girl a step ahead of DJ and Kimmy in something.  Kind of like a running gag.  Because of this, I probably would have preferred to have her character stay relatively out of the picture, but that's just me.

I know, obviously they could just throw a bunch of friends in all the time, like you said.  But still, the only time I remember Jesse having a friend was in Dr. Dare and Our Very First Night, and the Becky had friends in No More Mr. Dumb Guy, but neither Danny nor Joey had friends other than those living with them!  they had some colleages, and we did meet Joey's dad at one point, but other than that ...............................

I think it would have been nice to meet someone, basically

Perhaps it's just as simple as them not have many friends outside of their family.  There are some people I know who are like them, but it's not something I would promote if they're trying to set an example, lol.  They never seemed to be able to handle information about characters very well I guess.
