Your Favorite Active Show
« on: July 25, 2007, 03:14:03 AM »
I'm sure most of us have had a lot of notable shows in the past, but what is your favorite show to watch that is currently active?  Just to make it clear, syndication doesn't count.

It's a tough choice.  There are definitely less shows I'd want to watch now than say, the mid-90's.  I tend to like sitcoms above other types of shows, with probably some notable exceptions.

I might go with something like South Park for their new stuff now, but the Simpsons for their earlier years.  There aren't many live-action I'm interested in watching anymore.

Yeah, there's not much active shows I like right now.. Most of my favorite shows are from the 80's-90's, a few from the 60's, or early 2000's. The only active ones I can think of right now are Kyle XY, The Simpsons, 7th Heaven, and Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?.
I love these guys <3

Most of the shows I like to watch have ended, but the only one I can think of right now is Law & Order: SVU.

Actually, I do like shows such as One Tree Hill, and I watched this new show called "Saving Grace" a few nights ago, and I liked that one. And did 7th Heaven end yet? I know they ended it and then started it back up, but is it still going?

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention One Tree Hill, Beauty and the Geek, Supernanny, Trading Spouses, Wife Swap, and To Catch a Predator. As for 7th Heaven, I have no idea, I'm assuming it's still going, but I'll look it up...

Well, according to this article, I guess it has ended.

As for a live action show, it's tough to say.  I"m sure how many are even on anymore (and I know most of the great ones in the past have had spots filled by reality shows and the like).  Julia Louis-Dreyfus' sitcom isn't bad, but nothing amazing either.

I love a bunch of shows like Everybody Loves Raymond, Reba, What I Like About You, Hannah Montana, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Life with Derek, and King of Queens. Those are pretty much all of my favorite shows! And some of you were wondering if 7th Heaven was still going, it's not. The last episdoe was a couple months ago. That was a pretty good show, though! But they play re-runs every Sunday I think on WGN.

Well, this is just for the ones currently on, so I only think 2 or 3 would fall under that category.  This is just for the ones that still have new episodes and seasons and such.  So that would eliminate Raymond and the KoQ (it ended last May) for sure.

7th Heaven has ended. Yeah, they aired what was supposed to be series finale for it in May 2006, the episode where Simon's wedding and Matt's med school graduation wind up on the same weekend, and Annie doesn't want to let Simon pospone the wedding so he can go to Matt's graduation. Then for some reason they brought it back for another season. They had another season finale this May where the Camdens take off on a cross country trip in an RV that Ruth and the Colonel gave them, and it was an open ended trip with them not necessarily coming back. So this time I'm pretty sure it's ended for good.

I remember hearing they decided to go another year due to popular demand and the successful ratings of what was supposed to be the series finale.  Only certain shows would be able to get away with two different intended last episodes.  FH probably would fit into that category.
